We are an Approved Training Organization (ATO) and offer prospective pilots with flight training solutions. Approved by the Portuguese Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC) and in compliance with EASA, Nortávia meets and exceeds industry-standard training and instructional standards.

Nortávia is strategically located in Maia, in Vilar de Luz aerodrome, where students can enjoy an excellent aeronautical environment, and which meets all the conditions for both theoretical and practical training to occur with a high level of quality. 1. Admission Requirements
The following admission requirements refer to candidates applying for Nortávia’s Integrated ATPL(A) course.
Minimum age of 16 at the date of the course start, however the license can only be issued when the candidate reaches at least 18 years of age.
High School or equivalent. Knowledge of Mathematics and Physics.
Be proficient in English (spoken and written) to a minimum ICAO level 4 standard.
Hold a Class 1 Medical Certificate.
National ID card or passport;
2 passport type colour photos;
Certificate of Academic Qualifications;
Class 1 Medical Certificate.

2. Training
If you want to be a successful pilot, the integrated course is the best and quickest way to achieve your goal. The integrated route is an intense and structured training program that is completed within a relatively short period of time. This program is designed to take you from no experience to obtaining a commercial pilot’s license with guidance from experienced instructors from beginning to end.
In the practical training, you will be able to apply all the knowledge you previously learned, and refine your hands-on skills to operate an aircraft on your own safely. You’ll learn the skills and gain experience and so be ready to start taking-off your career.
Certification
ATPL(A) training is intended for candidates who wish to become Airline Pilots, completing the ATPL(A) theory and with the SEP, IFR, MEP and MCC qualifications.
The ATPL(A) + Instructor + Internship course also includes the FI(A) Flight Instructor and Internship qualification.

3. Airline Placement
This is the part where you secure your first job. Aviation is a global industry and Boeing and Airbus are forecasting a worldwide demand for more than 500.000 new pilots over the next 20 years.

Our vast experience in student placement all over the world has taught us that well-prepared candidates are always the most employable and this surpasses whatever protocols may exist with airlines. Consider becoming an instructor, and this is often well looked upon by potential employers, not only because of the hours built, but also due to the significant experience it provides.
The pilot Career is one of constant learning, and while you have completed its foundation by securing your Frozen ATPL, when you progress to an airline career, you’ll most certainly enrol a program of Type-Rating and line training until you effectively become a first officer doing air transport operations.
Your Career
You’re now a first officer or co-pilot, and your fantastic career has begun! Discipline and steady hands will take you through the steps, usually encompassing different fleet types until you’re ready to become a Captain. From there, further responsibilities may be on your plate: the best pilots are often recruited as instructors and examiners for the companies. The sky is literally the limit!
